Installation of computer network using very small aperture terminals

Williams Natural Gas Co. has installed a supervisory control and data acquisition network that uses very small aperture terminals. The network, installed for the company by ICG Satellite Services subsidiary Nova-Net, allows the accurate monitoring and recording of flow data for Williams' 6,000-mile pipeline system, which runs across seven states. A communications satellite provides the link between flow computers on the field and the company's network management center in Colorado and its headquarters in Tulsa, OK.
