Dow Jones Industrial Average

Indexes based on the stock prices of major gas and electric utilities and gas transmission companies did not perform as well as the Dow Jones Industrial Average during 1st qtr 1994. The index of gas and electric utility stocks dropped 11.3% during the quarter, while gas distribution stocks lost 7.64% of their value and gas pipeline stocks fell 4.65%. During the same period, the Dow lost only 3.15% of its value.
